The Story of Sandy Island:

'...Sandy was a quiet little seagull and a little bit on the silly side. Well, actually, a lot on the silly side. He had his head in the clouds, looking at the stars and wasn't taking any notice of where he was flying when all of a sudden...

...crash, thud, whallop, bang.

Now he saw a different sort of stars. Lots and lots of tiny little ones.

He had bumped into the mast of an old ship-wrecked sailboat and landed right in it...'

Sandy is taken to be patched up by Shelly the Seal and the stories follow his adventures on Sandy Island with his new found friend, Puffy the Penguin.
